Acceptable use policy
Draft for review. This text has not yet been reviewed by the site owner and is not legal advice.
This policy applies to every account and every visitor. Moderators and administrators may point to it when they remove content or suspend an account.
Do not
- Spam. No advertising, gold selling, boosting or account trading, link farming, repeated or near-identical posts, or uploads made only to promote something.
- Upload harmful code. No Lua (custom functions, custom conditions or anything embedded in an export) that is malicious or deceptive: code that tries to steal accounts or credentials, sends chat or addon messages without making that clear, hides what it does (obfuscation, dynamically built code), interferes with other addons or the game's security, or tries to evade this site's checks.
- Harass anyone. No threats, abuse, hate speech, targeting of individuals or groups, or sharing other people's personal information.
- Impersonate. Do not pretend to be another player, a moderator, the site's staff, a guide author or Blizzard, including through your display name or character.
- Abuse the site. No scraping that burdens the service, automated mass uploads, voting or flagging rings, attempts to inflate download counts, probing for vulnerabilities, or using the site as general file storage.
- Evade enforcement. Do not create or use another account to get around a suspension or a removal.
- Break the law or others' rights. Only upload what you have the right to dedicate to the public domain (see the content license).
What moderators and administrators may do
- Hide content for review, remove it, or restore it.
- Remove comments, and turn comments off on a share.
- Suspend (ban) an account. A suspended account cannot sign in, upload, rate, flag or comment. Administrators may remove all of a suspended account's comments, and separately its uploads.
- Keep a record of moderation actions.
Content flagged by several people is hidden automatically until a moderator looks at it. The owner of a share can remove comments on it and turn comments off.
Appeals
- Removed uploads: the owner can appeal once, from the share's page; a moderator decides.
- Comments: there is no appeal.
- Suspended accounts: contact the administrator through the route shown when you try to sign in. There is no in-site appeal.
Changes
This policy may change. The current version is always on this page.
