- Not available on that edition (the reason is in the tooltip)
- Depends on the setting, your class or another addon (details in the tooltip)
What it does
Checks how many units around you are within the distance you set, compared with the count you set: enemies when Enemy is ticked, everything else when it is not, and only units that are in combat when In Combat is ticked. If the distance of any unit it would count is uncertain, the whole count is unavailable.
Why you might use it
Counts the units around you within a distance: enemies when Enemy is ticked, non-enemies when it is cleared. The classic use is a switch condition or branch that moves to an AoE rotation when enough enemies are close, such as Whirlwind, Blizzard, Consecration or Swipe at 3 or more targets within 8 yards. It counts what the addon can observe, mainly nameplates, so turn enemy nameplates on; the distance cannot exceed your nameplate distance setting, and when any unit's range is uncertain the whole count is unavailable. Tick In Combat to count only units that are fighting, so an idle pack beside the pull does not start your AoE rotation. See also Distance.
Example
Number of enemies within 8 yards is greater than or equal to 3
Settings
What each setting in the condition editor means, from the game's own help.
Enemy - Count enemies when selected, or non-enemies when cleared.
In Combat - Count only units that are in combat. For enemies that is the ones fighting right now, not every enemy whose nameplate is visible. A unit whose combat state the game will not report makes the count unavailable.
Operator - How to compare Distance Count with the Count value. This comparison uses basic mathematical comparison operations.
Count - The number of observed units proven within Distance of you.
Distance - Counts the addon's observed unit snapshot, including nameplates and tracked unit aliases, rather than every nearby unit. A unit counts only when its upper range bound is within Distance; uncertain membership or unreadable identity, hostility, range or nameplate settings makes the whole count unavailable, including under Unless. Known vanished or reused unit tokens are excluded. Distance cannot exceed the current nameplate distance setting; that setting does not guarantee a complete scan.
