Conditions.talent.group

dependency

Call as

Conditions.talent.group(spec)

Record the dependency Conditions.talent.group, then call it by that name. A namespaced call does not pass self: use a colon call or pass the object yourself.

What it does

Returns the talent group to query for spec: spec itself on progression clients when it is a whole number from 1 to 4, otherwise nil so the platform uses its default group.

Arguments

NameTypeWhat it does
specanySpecialization or talent group number from the editor or evaluation.

Returns

1number | nilTalent group index, or nil for the default group.

Editions

Built In helpers are registered on every edition. What differs is the game API they read; where one is missing the helper falls back or returns nil with a reason.

It reads no game API directly.

How the addon calls it

  • Talent (print)
    local tree=value.tree and addon.TalentTrees.Name(value.tree,addon.TalentTrees.ContextClass(),group(spec))
  • Conditions.talent.gridWidget
    local talent=platform:GetGridTalentInfo((shownTier-1)*3+column,group(spec))
  • Conditions.talent.info
    if value.layout=="grid" then return platform:GetGridTalentInfo(value.value,group(spec)) end
  • Conditions.talent.treeName
    local name=integer(value.tree,1,16) and addon.TalentTrees.Name(value.tree,addon.TalentTrees.ContextClass(),group(spec))
  • Conditions.talent.treePicker
    local listed=addon.TalentTrees.Choices(addon.TalentTrees.ContextClass(),group(spec))
  • Conditions.talent.treeWidget
    local listed=addon.TalentTrees.Choices(addon.TalentTrees.ContextClass(),group(spec))
