- Not available on that edition (the reason is in the tooltip)
- Depends on the setting, your class or another addon (details in the tooltip)
What it does
Checks if the Season of Discovery rune you choose is engraved on one of your equipped items. Passive runes count too.
Why you might use it
For Season of Discovery, checks whether a rune is engraved on your gear, including passive runes that a Spell Known test cannot see. One shared rotation can then adapt to the build: a Mage adds Living Bomb only when it is engraved, or a Rogue switches to a tanking rotation when Just a Flesh Wound is on the chest. Outside Season of Discovery realms, and until your runes load after logging in, the condition is unavailable rather than false, even under NOT; it does not exist on Retail or WoW Forever. This is not the Death Knight Runes condition.
Example
you have the rune Living Bomb engraved
Settings
What each setting in the condition editor means, from the game's own help.
Matches when a Season of Discovery rune is engraved on one of your equipped items. Passive runes count too, which a known-spell test cannot see.
Rune - Pick one of your known runes by equipment slot. The rune is saved by the first spell it teaches, so a shared rotation names it on any character.
Rune Spell ID / Rune ID - Enter a spell the rune teaches, or the rune's own ID (its skill line ability ID) for a rune that teaches no spell. Entering one clears the other.
Engraving exists only on Season of Discovery realms. Elsewhere, and until your runes have loaded after logging in, this condition is unavailable rather than false, including under NOT. The Phase 7 shoulder runes are not engravings and are not seen. This is not the Death Knight Rune condition.
